Friends, fellow food people, drunkards, lovers…
Happy (wine) Wednesday to you! It’s a VERY happy Wednesday, if you ask me.
Remember when I told you I was writing a cookbook? Well, you won’t believe this. I can hardly believe this. I kind of want to puke and laugh at the same time. Though I don’t think that’d work out too well for anyone.
After 12 “spirited” months of working night and day and usually well into the next morning, I’m proud (and terrified) to share the breaking news with you that Cooking With Cocktails is available for pre-order!!!
MAMA WHAT!
The manuscript has been scripted. The photos have been photographed. And I am clean out of alcohol… Yikes.
If you’re into really good food cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients, drinks with a little somethin’ somethin’ and enjoying what you put in your mouth, this book is for you.
Inside Kristy… (‘s book)
Cooking With Cocktails tastes a lot like She Eats – it’s witty(ish), delicious and loaded with flavour and useful information – but better. Because every single one of the 100 recipes have been carefully tested, photographed and curated to invite the hungry, life loving, alcohol enthusiast in you to look to your bar for inspiration for your next meal.
A few dishes are childhood favourites that I’ve adulted the shit out of, while others are new ones that have been concocted along the way. Some are quick and easy (like me, ow ow!) while others take more care.
Most of them involve cheese or butter or bread or meat and lots of farm fresh, locally seasonal produce.
None of them include reduced fat or low calorie ingredients. If you’re concerned about those things, I say everything in moderation. Move your body more than you watch TV. Like Sarah Copeland says “eat cake and vegetables”. Because life is better in whole flavour and full colour.
All of them are both boozy in nature and delicious in flavour, accompanied by a big luscious photo shot by yours truly.
I’m not saying it’s going to change your life or anything, but…. It’ll probably change your life.
From the Jacket of Cooking With Cocktails:
Julia Child famously commented, “I enjoy cooking with wine, sometimes I even put it in the food . . . ” Kristy Gardner has taken this idea to the next level in Cooking with Cocktails. Every recipe is touched with alcohol; the result is a punchy visual adventure with roots in Italian and French cuisine that demands enjoying meals with passion, with friends, and with alcohol.
Join the celebration of the very best that life has to offer—good friends, good food, good drink, great stories, and bad jokes—with humor, delicious recipes, and mouth-watering photographs.
Show Me The Money!
..Has it been too many years to keep quoting that movie? Am I suddenly super uncool?
Pre-sales are super important to the long-term success of the book (and I’m flat broke thanks to a liquor cabinet full of recipes), so if you’re planning on grabbing a copy, I would be oh so grateful – like, balls deep grateful – if you would pretty please help yourself to one (or 20) now.
To support the book, I would also be infinitely grateful if you share it with your friends and family. All ya gots to do is forward this post to a friend or post on your own page or profiles. I’ve made it super easy for you below – just click your preferred method of sharing at the bottom of this post and bam! Easy peasy. Kind of like me after that 3rd margarita.
Thank you so much my friends – from the very bottom of my glass – for helping make my dream come true. I know it sounds a bit cliche but I couldn’t have done any of this, without you. I’ll be honest, the creation of this book has been something I always wanted, but didn’t expect to actually happen. Hell, half way through I wasn’t sure it would. But because of your support and muchas love over email, social media, the blog, bottles of tequila, and carrier pigeon, I made it.
We made it.
You are my my muse and together, we have the best damn community anyone could ask for. I am truly SO honoured and humbled to call you my friends, my confidants & my booze buddies 😉 And I’m THRILLED to share this adventure, a bottle of wine (or 3), and this book with you.
I’m in good company and damn it, we’ll eat good food together, too.
If you make anything from the book or generously pick up a copy, please let me know. Be sure to Email me or @tag me or use #CookingWithCocktails on social media so I see it.
Thank you for being part of this with me.
Cook. Eat. Imbibe. Live. Laugh. And repeat.
But first, buy my book. I can’t believe the day has come when I get to share it with you.
