One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to holiday cooking (or any cooking, really) is that the bird seems to get all the attention.
Don’t get me wrong, I like me some good roasted…well… Anything! I love roasted turkey, roasted chicken, roasted duck, roasted lamb, roasted ham – I’m a real roast meat lover, yes I AM!
BUT…. I’m also a vegetable fanatic. Locally produced & regionally seasonal veggies get my heart a’racing – even more than Chuck Hughes (and that’s sayin’ something). I know I can’t be the only one. Can I??
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The sign of a true chef, is one who can not only cook meat well, but can also make a veggies phenomenal. So if you want to really wow your dinner guests this Christmas season, do us vegetable huggers a favor and surprise us – make great vegetables! If you missed the opportunity to submit your best veggie-friendly recipes, never fear!
