Fresh Foods Wednesday #92

September 24, 2014 By Kristy Gardner 18 Comments

Welcome to Fresh Foods Wednesday #92!

Fresh Foods Wednesday #65 Real Food Link Up

You can now participate in the link up via INSTAGRAM! View full instructions and how-to pictures here.

For those of you linking up blog posts, feel free to share your Instagram pictures too! Let’s get this party rockin’ & rollin! And as always, everyone is welcome to pin whatever you share to the group Pinterest board. Simply email me to be invited to pin.

This week I don’t have much to share with you from the CSA my friends. I’m out of town, staying with my parents because of the crazy ass uber-shitty shit I talked about a couple of weeks ago. I really don’t want to get into specifics - not yet - so if I can just ask you all to send your most positive, most healing, most generous thoughts our way, that would be oh so very much appreciated. And needed.

However, I do share the occasional image right now via my Instagram Feed (because I pretty much can’t stop myself. And because even in the face of tragedy, we still need a bit of happy, right?)

The Fresh Foods Wednesday #92 link up is to encourage fresh food production, consumption, activism, eating and awareness. Please feel free to link up posts or Instagram images containing:

  • CSA collections;
  • Farmer’s market treasures;
  • Home grown/raised hauls;
  • Recipes that feature fresh fruits and veggies that are seasonal to your area or feature local, sustainably farmed meats, eggs, and dairy;
  • DIY projects and tutorials for: gardening, storing and/or preserving fresh, real foods, composting market scraps, raising chickens in your back yard, small living, etc…

You may link up as many posts or pictures in a given week that you haven’t shared with the Wednesday Fresh Foods Link Up before by using the linky tool at the bottom of this post.

Please make an effort to click on a few of the linked up contributions and say hello by leaving a comment for your fellow fresh food communitarians and/or leave one here to tell us what you’ve shared – because it’s always nice to know someone thinks we’re doing a good job!

And if you like what you see here, please feel free to include a simple text link back to this link up in the post(s) you share. If not, no biggie. You can also follow me on any of the social networks via the handy dandy links at the top of the sidebar or sign up for my bi-weekly newsletter to stay in the loop with all things local food, real ingredient recipes and pretty much everything she eats.

      Thank you for contributing Vicky! It’s great to see you. Keep bringing the pears! They’re fabulous right now. I just spent the day in an orchard and was giddy by the fresh, seasonal fruit!

      Thanks Miz Helen! I did too - Summer is so bountiful isn’t it??? I guess we should soak those veggies (and sun) up while we still can. Fall is fast on our heels. Thanks for linking up! Great to see you :)

 Well I made it! And so begins the writing retreat. One full week on a gulf island with no TV, no cell reception and no distractions. Thank god there's wifi. A week from today, the cookbook will be written. But right now my bigger concern is what the fuck are all the noises in the bushes??? Celebrating #MargaritaWeek right now. Seriously you guys - these mint cucumber & smoky jalapeño margs are my new obsession. Tonight: Dinner in with a good friend (@jcameijer - tell Haydn Jessica says what up!), margaritas, Guardians of the Galaxy & brown butter popcorn topped off with red curry powder and Fresh grated Parmesan cheese. This is my kind of #friyay Holy margaritas batman!! Mint Cucumber and Smoky jalapeño #Margarita. It's #MargaritaWeek = a good excuse to get your tequila on! Not that I ever need an excuse for that. Did the sun rise in the East? Tequila. Did you eat something for dinner? Tequila. Did you finish the photography for your cookbook (hell yes I did!)? Tequila. Did you poop today? Definitely tequila. See what I mean? But with #cincodemayo coming up, @holajalapeno is hosting over 30 of us and our delicious, booze infused margarita concoctions. Link in profile for this gem of a recipe bottoms up friends. Happy Friday! So. Many. Fava. Beans. To. Shell. #SpringIsHere #ThisIsTakingForeverAndINeedABigGirlGlassOfChianti Coming atcha this Friday: Clooney. Tequila. Fresh produce. Unicorn salt. 🦄 Comin at me now: Too much Clooney. Too much tequila. Too much fresh produce. Too much unicorn salt. I'm not sure if there's such a thing as too much of any of all of those things but dude. I think there might be. Send help. #bottomsup #margaritaville #margaritaweek #Casamigos #liqpic Brunching. But mostly munching. Because, mushrooms. #mushroomhead #brunching #sundaysbest #sundaymorning You know you're loved when... @arbutus_films really is just the best one. It's still 2.5 years till the wedding and I can't even wait. #Gratitude #ilovehim #immarryingmybestfriend #CuratedLife #LiveAuthentic #livingthedream #happygirl #ilovemylife #persuepretty #nothingisordinary #lifeincolor #flowerchild #loveisallyouneed
